The Little Hooliganz are no more. While hooliganism is not something worth celebrating I could not help but find myself pulling for the lads behind this product in their legal battle with the FA. I thought was a cool idea as a collectible item or something I could have on my word desk. But fury was sparked when these dolls were being sold/marketed towards young kids, as young as three, encouraging them to collect Little Hooliganz characters depicting an entire ‘firm’ of Reading hooligans. Also marketing campaigns such as asking collectors to send in photos of their Little Hooliganz “misbehaving in obscure places” didn’t help matters either. Everyone from the FA to Football Supporters Federation to parents voiced their displeasures via released statements or lawsuits which eventually forced the company selling the Little Hooliganz, Blightly Collectibles, to stop sale of the items and eventually close up shop though with a promise of opening sometime in the future (doubt that).
